Projects: An unannounced VR experience that is unlike any other

Duration: Permanent, Full-time

Location: Work from home (remote) but must be living in Canada as a citizen or have a valid work permit (preference given to those living in Vancouver)

Salary: $60K~70K

Metanaut is hiring for our next exciting VR experience. This VR experience will push the boundaries of VR design and technology and will pave the way to building a metaverse. Successful candidates have experience using Unity 2019. They are also experts in C# and have experience working on multiple Unity projects from start to finish in a professional setting. It is important for the candidate to explain technical concepts well and is respectful of all team members in different disciplines.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain C# code
  • Develop VR experiences in Unity using our internally-built, Unity-based SDK
  • Provide suggestions and feedback to SDK and tools developers
  • Continuously test, debug, profile, analyze, and optimize all aspects of a Unity project on applicable VR hardware
  • Contribute innovative and creative ideas on all aspects of virtual reality design and development
  • Write and maintain comments in your code and documentation in our internal wiki
  • Adhere to and improve version control usage standards
  • Conduct and participate in regular code reviews and 1-on-1 meetings with other developers
  • Participate in daily scrum meetings and weekly design & sprint meetings
  • Respond promptly to Slack messages (< 5 mins)
  • Track tasks using Toggl

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of professional Unity developer experience with at least one shipped title developed from start to finish
  • 1+ years of experience working with senior developers
  • Experience working with internally developed tools
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, related discipline, or equivalent experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-driven and self-motivated in a home environment
  • Disciplined without needing constant supervision in a home environment
  • Understands the importance of documentation
  • Punctual with deadlines

  • Experience working on a VR project
  • Experience working on a solo Unity project

  • Experience using Jira and Plastic SCM
