Projects: An unannounced VR experience that is unlike any other

Duration: Permanent, Full-time

Location: Work from home (remote) but must be living in Canada as a citizen or have a valid work permit (preference given to those living in Vancouver)

Salary: $60K~80K

Metanaut is hiring for our next exciting VR experience. This VR experience will push the boundaries of VR design and technology and will pave the way to building a metaverse. Successful candidates are positive, outspoken, inclusive, organized, and has held a technical role before.


  • Oversee, manage, and prioritize the day-to-day development of all projects using Jira 
  • Lead weekly sprint meetings by communicating project status / goals and assigning tasks to the team
  • Lead and/or be the liaison to a variety of internal and external engagements and collaborations with staff, online communities, and business partners
  • Adhere to and improve tools, processes, and workflows
  • Prepare and write development plans, progress reports, presentations, internal / external wikis, grants, and other key documents
  • Test work-in-progress work, give feedback, and report bugs
  • Write marketing posts on social media, studio blog, and newsletter
  • Support leadership team to help plan and implement key initiatives
  • Participate in daily scrum meetings
  • Respond promptly to Slack messages (< 5 mins)
  • Track tasks using Toggl


  • 1+ years managing software projects
  • Experience with Unity and version control software
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Diplomatic and highly organized
  • Held a technical role before
  • Self-driven and self-motivated in a home environment
  • Punctual with deadlines

Nice to haves:

  • Some understanding of VR development
  • Past experience working remotely
  • Have run workshops, seminars, events
  • Basic graphic editing skills
  • Good relationship with VR communities

Metanaut is a small award-winning team of virtual reality enthusiasts who are passionate about building a better future. Our goal is to develop VR experiences that are exceptional in design, spark a sense of wonder, and make a positive impact on the world.

We are one of the first VR studios in Vancouver, and have won some of the world’s largest VR competitions. We were accepted into the world’s largest AR grant (Magic Leap) which was only awarded to three Canadian studios. Our team members have backgrounds in industrial design, engineering, and computer science, which helps us apply proven real-world design principles to unfamiliar virtual worlds.

Our studio is entirely independent and Canadian owned. All shareholders work full-time at the studio, and we understand the importance of not sacrificing integrity and ideas for sake of profit.

We split our time between the metaverse and Vancouver, and we want you to join us in the journey!
